Door knocker
Central Europe, first half of 18th century
Malleable iron knocker made of two square bars and two decorative spirals. The main bar is set with a mascaron-shaped ring knob which serves as the hammer. The side spirals are joined by clasps and welded to each bar. The second bar is set into a mascaron-shaped ring mount, to which a spiral band has been welded. Decorated with grooving.
